Sometimes a holiday just isn’t the same if you have to leave your pet behind, and we are delighted to have recently been awarded Pet-Friendly Cottage Accommodation 2026 and Best Pet-Friendly Self-Catering Accomodation (Devon) 2025. Well behaved pets are welcome in our award winning cottages., both of which have fully enclosed and 99.9% secure gardens.   Please notify us at the time of booking if you would like to bring your pet on holiday with you. Our usual maximum is 4 (dogs or cats), more can be considered but please phone to discuss before booking, to make sure there will be room for you all in your chosen cottage, or if your pet is something more unusual. We do have some booking conditions relating to pets that we ask you to agree to - see our terms and conditions.

We charge a supplement of £25 per pet per stay and provide your dogs with a towel for paw wiping. With the muddy paw/boot wash outside each cottage they can have just as much fun outside in all weather as you! Dogs will be welcomed with a doggy treat, a fresh bowl of water and a fleecy doggy throw. Cats can enjoy some treats, a catnip mouse and cat throws (they generally prefer their own bowls and please bring their own litter tray) - we think they will be just as pleased with their holiday home as we hope you will be.

If you want to pop to the shops or have a meal out in a restaurant where dogs may not be welcomed please enquire whether we can pet mind for a short while for you - we don't allow dogs to be left alone in the cottages, but will do our best to help, particularly during hot weather when you may not want to leave your pet in the car when you do the supermarket run.

If you want to bring a pet other than a dog or cat, this is usually fine but please telephone to speak to Nicky on 07519 710740 so that we can discuss your needs.

House Rules for Dogs (please give me a call or message me for cats):

  • Your dog must not be left in the cottage unattended at any time. Even if they are perfectly behaved when alone at home our experience has proven this is not necessarily the case on holiday. Dogs must also be on a lead when leaving and returning to the cottage - this is to protect our own pets, wildlife and other guests who may not appreciate an uber friendly greeting!
  • Dogs are not to be allowed upstairs (we have dog gates fitted). In Moonseeker we kindly ask that, at night, dogs are only allowed in the kitchen area (we have dog gates to assist with this).
  • Under no circumstances are dogs allowed on the beds - this is out of respect for other guests coming in. We would prefer that pets are not allowed on furniture but if your pet is used to this at home we suggest you bring additional throws.
  • Dogs must be kept under control at all times as there are hens which range free from time to time, our own cats, and livestock including lambs in the surrounding fields.
  • Owners are required to clean up after their dogs please.
  • Both cottages have their own enclosed gardens but please don’t assume your dog isn’t capable of escaping!

There are some lovely walks direct from the cottage and you will be spoilt for choice within just a short drive. We are quite sure your dog will be wagging its tail in delight with so much variety – beaches, woods, moorland and quiet leafy lanes.

We provide information leaflets on beaches that accept dogs in the information folder in the cottage, or take a look at The Beach Guide for Devon or Cornwall
